Benidorm inaugura una muestra del vestuario ganador del Goya 2019, ‘La sombra de la Ley’

Boca del Calvari museum hosts this afternoon at 7.30 pm the opening of the exhibition 'La sombra de la ley. Vestuario cinematográfico', a show in which part of the costumes made by the designer Clara Bilbao is exhibited for this film and the Goya of the Film Academy awarded her for the best costumes in 2019. The Councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer, has indicated that it is "a pleasure to host this exhibition in the city, which is the first activity linked to Benidorm Skyline Film Festival , our short film contest that will take place from April 4 to 7 ".

The exhibition, commissioned by Abigail Aguirre and to be seen until May 5, shows twenty-seven sets of costumes made by Clara Bilbao for this film and which is a key narrative element to know and deepen the nature of the characters of 'La sombra de la ley 'and also to recreate the political and social situation of the Barcelona of 1921. A situation marked by the continuous street confrontations between gunmen, anarchists, and corrupt police, which manages to transport the viewer to the atmosphere of black cinema at the most pure classic style.

Inside Boca del Calvari museum the costumes are divided into three large groups: policemen, union and anarchist workers, and the glamorous universe of the Music Hall.

Pellicer recalled that in addition to this exhibition, which starts the third edition of the contest led by Bea Hernández, the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival has also scheduled three workshops aimed at the youngest in the municipal center El Torrejó. This is a workshop on film genres, which will be held on Thursday 4 at noon, another production of short films, which will be held on Saturday 6 at 12.30 pm, and a third of 'stop motion' in which will teach the little ones how to animate plasticine dolls. Those interested in participating in any of the workshops can register at info@skylinefest.es.

A total of 300 short films have been presented to this third edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival. After visualizing all the pieces, the programmers of the contest have chosen the 25 short films that will compete in the three contest categories: Best Documentary, National Fiction and Valencian Short Films. Besides the payment for selection of 200 euros, the festival will give four awards: the best short film, which will receive 550 euros; and three prizes of 350 euros for the best Valencian short, the best documentary and for the best script. There is also a prize for the best short film made by students: a distribution bonus in charge of Movibeta platform, which will allow them to send their work to national and international festivals.
