Jaime Jesús Pérez thanks Liceo Poético for the "great work" done to "bring poetry" to schools
Benidorm hosts the 6th edition of the International Poetry Festival

Benidorm City Hall Assembly Hall held the opening session of the sixth edition of the International Poetry Festival, organized in collaboration with the Department of Culture by the Benidorm Poetry Lyceum.
The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, welcomed the attending poets on behalf of the council and recalled its first edition, in 2016, which was attended by his predecessor in the department, Ana Pellicer, also present in the hall as First Deputy Mayor, along with the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno. Among the audience was the Polish Consul in Barcelona, Łukasz Knurowski.
Pérez highlighted the "great work" done by the Benidorm Poetry Lyceum, directed by Julio Pavanetti, in its quest to "bring poetry to schools and all the young people of our city." He thanked the attending poets, who came from various countries in the Americas, Europe, and the Spanish autonomous communities, and encouraged them "to enjoy the city and the festival." Finally, Jaime Jesús Pérez thanked Tramontana and the Rosa Martínez Dance Studio for their collaboration in the event.
The Benidorm International Poetry Festival then continued with poem readings by their authors, accompanied by the guitar of Joaquín Boscá, and finally, a performance by the Tramuntana Cultural Association of La Mancha.
The second day of the Festival began today, Friday, at 10:00 a.m., also in the Town Hall Assembly Hall, with an interactive bilingual recital by poets and secondary school students from the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores private school.
In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., in the same hall, there will be a celebration of the twenty-second anniversary of the Benidorm Poetry Lyceum and a performance by the Rosa Martínez Dance Studio. Diplomas and trophies will then be awarded to the invited rhapsodes.
