The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has called the merchants and residents on Jaime I Avenue and adjacent streets to an informative meeting in which they will be transferred all the information about the project of the III Phase of renovation of this important artery and the planned work schedule. The open meeting will be this Thursday, January 17, at 13.30 in Angelillo Bar, located at number 25 Jaime I Avenue.

Pérez has indicated that in addition to explaining the details and schedule of the work, during the meeting "we will also address all the doubts and suggestions that neighbors and merchants want to send us, and we will be able to reflect on the importance of this project".

This action is close to 700,000 euros in budget and is specified "in the only section that remains to be updated: the one that runs from El Cruce to the intersection of Limones and Ricardo Bayona streets". In this third phase, in general terms, the hydraulic infrastructures located in the subsoil and the entire pavement will be renewed, thus improving the urban scene, mobility, accessibility and urban services following the line of what has already been done in the rest of the avenue ".

The mayor has qualified that "basically going to act in the subsoil but under the sidewalks, not under the road" to subsequently "renew the entire surface of them giving continuity to the aesthetic that has given good results in the intervention of the two previous phases ".

Pérez stressed that this third phase "will complete the remodeling of one of the city's main roads, which in the last three years has seen its appearance transformed dramatically both aesthetically and structurally."

Finally, the mayor has announced that the work will be carried out in such a way that "the commercial and tourist activity" of this avenue will be maintained, although in these months "it is lower than at the end of the year" it continues to be important "
