Benidorm amplía los servicios del Parc de Foietes con la adjudicación del servicio de bar cafetería

The successful bidder will operate the café-bar in this public space for a period of four years in exchange for an annual fee of €4,000

Benidorm City Council’s Local Government Board has awarded the contract for café-bar services at the kiosk in Parc de Foietes for a period of four years, expanding the range of services available in the park for residents and visitors to enjoy. Aida García Mayor, Benidorm City Council’s Councillor for Public Procurement, explained that, as has been done in other areas of the city, the award forms part of the municipal strategy to “improve and enhance public assets by incorporating services that can be enjoyed by residents, particularly in a public space such as Parc de Foietes, which is used daily by residents and visitors of all ages”.

The councillor recalled that the existing kiosk in the park “had been unused until now” and expressed her confidence that its new use “will add to the park’s appeal and be well received by users”. She also noted that the tender specifications established an annual fee of €4,000 to be paid by the successful bidder, which technicians consider “reasonable”, given that the cost of fitting out the kiosk—which is currently an empty shell with no installations—will have to be recouped over the duration of the concession.

Once the contract has been formally signed, the successful bidder will be responsible for equipping the kiosk and preparing a menu of snacks, light meals, meals and drinks for sale to the public.

Aida García Mayor recalled that Parc de Foietes “is a zone that already offers a wide range of leisure facilities, including picnic areas, shaded areas, playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment”. She also highlighted that throughout the year, and particularly during the summer, “leisure and cultural activities are organised for people of all ages”. “We believe that having a bar service nearby for park users will be an excellent complement to the facilities and services already available in this park,” she concluded.
