Dinpasis facilities can be visited and to participate in 'Aqualogía' program

Benidorm commemorates the World Water Day with awareness actions for schoolchildren and visits to the ETAP, the WWTP and Dinapsis

Benidorm conmemora el Día Mundial del Agua con acciones de concienciación para escolares y visitas la ETAP, la EDAR y Dinapsis

One more year Benidorm joins the commemoration of World Water Day, which will be held next Thursday, March 22. For this event, awareness-raising activities for schoolchildren and visits to the main municipal facilities linked to the integral water cycle have been organized. In addition, visits to Dinapsis, the research and innovation center of the water concessionaire, Hidraqua, have also been scheduled as a novelty.

The Water Cycle Councilman, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated that "for Benidorm, as a tourist destination, water is fundamental", and therefore "we want to influence actions that involve citizens in saving this good and also serve to disseminate how this resource is managed and treated. " The mayor explained that when it comes to programming these actions has taken into account the younger generations, who "are the best help us to convey to families how to contribute to saving and rational consumption of water."

The first of these activities is the representation of the theater 'La gota viajera', which will take place next Friday, March 23, in two sessions at 10.00 and at 12.00 in the City Hall. It is expected that these representations attend "about 300 children of schools in Benidorm who are in the second cycle of Primary."

Likewise, the centers that request it will be able to benefit from 'Aqualogía', a program taught by specialists based on awareness actions through virtual games and which is aimed at 5th and 6th grade students. '

Schoolchildren in Benidorm will also be able to participate in visits to the Drinking Water Treatment Station (ETAP) and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). These visits, which were already made last year, are open to the general public and will take place during the remainder of the month and in April. De Zarate stressed that through these visits citizens know on the one hand "how is treated water that is received in high", and on the other "how waste water is treated and the damages and cost involved in throwing certain products to the toilet or sewer. "

The visits to the ETAP can be arranged by phone 965862785, while those of the WWTP are managed through the number 966865025.

As a novelty, visits to the Dinapsis center have also been added this year, linked to R & D & I and where the participants "see what is researched in terms of water, and in other areas such as beaches, tourism and safety" . These visits must be scheduled at 966830043.

Apart from these actions, throughout the week there will be performances in media, such as the broadcast of radio programs in which specialists in the field will participate as the professor of Geographical Analysis of the University of Alicante Jorge Olcina , and municipal technicians and the Baixa Marina Water Consortium.
