Benidorm commemorates 'Book Day' with a public reading and an entertainment activity in l'Hort de Colón
One more year, Benidorm commemorates Book Day, making the youngest readers protagonists of this initiative. The Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage has scheduled for next Tuesday, April 25, a public reading and a reading animation activity in l'Hort de Colón in which the 5th-grade students of the CEIP Puig Campana will participate.
The councilor for the department, Ana Pellicer, explained that “this year we wanted the public reading to be different from previous editions. For this reason, instead of proposing the continued reading of 'Don Quixote', we have opted for l'Hort de Colón to be filled with literary voices and diverse narrative genres, further enriching this activity”. Thus, "each person will choose a fragment of their favorite book or the one they are currently reading and will recite it to the rest for approximately two minutes."
Pellicer highlighted that "this formula is an opportunity to get to know new authors and works, to discover genres that perhaps we have never opted for and also to find out, for example, which readings are the most interesting to those first readers who They are going to join us on Tuesday”.
The public reading will begin at 10:00 a.m. and cultural entities have also been invited to attend. In addition, it is open to people who wish to join.
Afterward, around noon, an entertainment activity will begin for the students in the 5th year of Primary School at Puig Campana school, led by Emma Lobo.
