Benidorm commemorates with Aerbeco Rare Disease Day

Benidorm conmemora con Aerbeco el Día Mundial de las Enfermedades Raras

On the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Rare Diseases, the Association of Rare Diseases of Benidorm and Region (AERBECO), associated with the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER), with the collaboration of Benidorm City Council, has organized a series of recreational and participatory activities with the objective of raising awareness in society and helping people who suffer from this condition to receive, in a timely manner, due diagnosis and treatment to guarantee a better life.

The programming has begun at 10.00, at Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España, with an exhibition of Chi Kung, physical activity adapted to the needs of this type of disease. At 11.00, the first pop music session was held by the 40 Principales of Benidorm. When the Town Hall clock marked noon, the president of AERBECO, Juan Miguel Martínez Bueno, invited attendees to read the Manifesto for World Rare Disease Day.

Before a scenario formed by associates of AERBECO, social groups of Benidorm and a representation of the municipal corporation headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca; The head of the Health Department, Mónica Gómez, and other councilors, read the manifesto the collaborators of the association Paul Fernandes, Pilar Herrero and Laura Sánchez assisted by the vice president of AERBECO, Mercedes de la Fuente. A parliament that has influenced the fight against these pathologies that, although affecting a small part of the population, have a particular symptomatology that is very difficult to diagnose and treat.

After the reading, the end of the party began, with the music of the popular radio station from Benidorm that has lasted until 2 pm.
