The City of Benidorm commemorates another year the International Women's Day with various events organized by the department of Equality, within a program that covers the whole month of March and started last Monday with the conference "La mujer en el mundo laboral" by the stylist and actress Cristina Rodríguez and" Coco Chanel "given yesterday by Vicenta Rodríguez.
Earlier this morning, members of the municipal corporation, led by the councillor of the area of Equality, Angela Llorca have deployed from the balcony of the City Hall a banner commemorating the March 8. In this event, they have been accompanied by different representatives of women's groups and the Red Cross.
Llorca has highlighted the "vast program of events" that Benidorm has organized on the occasion of the International Women's Day and have this March 8 as its "central axis." Thus, at 18.00 hours, took place in the Assembly Hall of the City Council an institutional event in which Berenice Laporta, president of the association MEMBA read a manifesto. Later a poetic and musical act was organized by the Association of Housewives of Benidorm closing with a conference given by the historian Vanesa Navarro in the presence of the mayor, Toni Pérez, and numerous members of the municipal corporation.
In addition to the events scheduled for today, tomorrow, Thursday, March 9, in the auditorium will also be held a play 'Interrupted' organized by the Department of Culture and on Friday there will be a visit to Fuentes del Algar within the XVII Encounter of Women from La Marina Baixa with music and dancing. Finally and as a colophon, from Tuesday 14 March at the Espai d'Art there will be an exhibition of painting by Marita A. Guardia.
