Benidorm celebrates the 182nd anniversary of the Local Police this Saturday
Benidorm Local Police will celebrate their 182nd anniversary this Saturday, March 7th, with a program of events starting several days before the anniversary and open to all citizens, including schoolchildren.
The main day of the celebrations will be Saturday, with the scheduled events taking place. At 11:30 a.m., a police demonstration will be held, followed half an hour later, at noon, by an official ceremony with the presence of authorities. Both the demonstration and the subsequent ceremony will be held on Bilbao Street.
However, commemorative activities will also be organised in the days leading up to the anniversary.
On Friday the 6th, the traditional open house will be held, starting at 5:00 p.m. This year, as a new initiative, schools have been invited to take guided tours of the police facilities so that young people can learn about how the police work, how they coordinate, and what their daily routine is like.
These visits will take place on Thursday and Friday, and will be attended by the councillors for Public Service and Education, Jesús Carrobles and Maite Moreno.
So far, 500 schoolchildren from most schools have confirmed their attendance at these guided tours. The visits will be held in the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at 55-minute intervals.
