Benidorm begins the distribution of 20,000 masks among workers who use public transport
Benidorm City Council, in collaboration with the Local Police and the National Police Corps, today began the distribution of the 20,000 masks received yesterday from the Government of Spain, within the 'Culture of Personal Protection' campaign, for distribution among all those people who are going to commute to their workplace by public transport starting tomorrow, April 14, and / or throughout the week.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that “the Local Police today delivered 12,000 of those masks to the concessionaire company of urban public transport, Llorente Bus, and to the taxi sector; while the remaining 8,000 masks have been made available to the National Police Corps, which will be responsible for their distribution at the TRAM station and the bus station. ”
With the delivery of these masks, the aim is to guarantee the protection of workers who from tomorrow will use public transport to get to their workplaces once the Spanish Government has decreed the restart of some non-essential activities.
