In general, the price per hour will be 1.90 euros, 1.20 euros for Resident card holders and 1.50 for clients of hotel establishments in the center
Benidorm assumes the management of the l'Aigüera car park with the company EYSA, updating equipment, databases and lowering rates
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, February 2, the Benidorm City Council will assume the management of the l'Aigüera car park, a management that becomes municipal with the collaboration of the company EYSA for the control, maintenance, and collaboration in the exploitation and collection. The commissioning will be carried out, however, "progressively and provisionally from tomorrow until September 30" since all the technological equipment and automatic databases will be updated, explained the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramon Gonzalez de Zarate.
In the same way, the rates will also experience a significant reduction with the new update and, according to Ordinance number 44 regulating the public price for the provision of parking services in this car park, the amount will generally be 0.317 euros per minute. and 1.90 euros per hour, with a maximum amount per day of 38 euros.
However, there are also some bonuses. Thus, holders of the Resident sticker will have a discount of 36.9%, so the price per minute will be 0.020 euros and 1.20 euros/per hour. The maximum amount per day will be 28.80 euros. Similarly, customers of hotel establishments (hotels, hostels, tourist apartments, etc.) in the center of Benidorm will have a 21.14% discount, with a price per minute of 0.025 euros and a price per hour of 1.50 euros. In this case, the maximum amount for one day will be 36 euros.
The bonus of one hour of free parking is also maintained when presenting a purchased ticket in shops, bars, restaurants, etc. from the center of Benidorm for an amount equal to or greater than 20 euros.
Both for customers of hotel establishments and for those of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. the downtown area will comprise the area delimited by the avenues of Jaime I, Alfonso Puchades, Comunidad Valenciana, and Europa, including these roads. In addition, the accreditation of the resident status will be carried out through the population register together with the vehicle register. "Provisionally and until the new equipment is installed and the automatic databases are updated, the Resident A sticker database will be used" the mayor specified.
González de Zárate has detailed that the commercial and restaurant establishments in the downtown area "will receive free one-hour parking tickets to deliver to customers who have spent equal to or greater than 20 euros and 100 vouchers will be delivered per establishment, with a six-month expiration. However, the mayor has specified that until the new equipment is installed and the tickets are distributed "the bonus will be made by presenting the ticket or invoice at the parking offices."
“These are very good and interesting prices for the residents in the center of Benidorm. Also very good for clients of hotels, apartments, etc. and also for those who spend in shops and restaurants, because they will have one hour free with a minimum spend of 20 euros, while before it amounted to 60 euros.
In short, we prioritize rotation, but also our neighbors and the people who come to spend and consume in the city”, he stated.
The Councilor for Mobility has also highlighted that in this first phase of setting up the car park, from tomorrow until September 30, "no subscriptions will be made because a regulation is pending to be drawn up establishing the quotas and award mode to deliver them in an equal and transparent manner. In other words, we still have to analyze the operation and occupation of the car park to find out the availability of season tickets”.
González de Zárate has also advanced a novelty that will be launched with the new municipal management. It is a matter of enabling a space reserved for motorcycles and mopeds inside the parking lot.
And he has also highlighted other novelties that will be implemented in the car park, offered as improvements by the company AYSA, among which is the installation of more surveillance cameras, a traffic guidance system and location of free spaces, spaces with charging for vehicles electric, for vehicles with trailers or larger seats aimed at family vehicles with pushchairs, among others.
Finally, the councilor has asked the residents and users of the car park for "patience and understanding until this provisional phase is over, during which the new equipment will be installed and that will help us to know and size up the way to offer the best service to our neighbors." and visitors. We are convinced that this new stage is going to be a very important benefit for them”.
