Another 13 entrepreneurial projects have benefited with amounts ranging between 800 and 1,200 euros

Benidorm approves the fourth remittance for the creation of new companies worth 11,600 euros

20 February 2024
Benidorm aprueba la cuarta remesa de ayudas para la creación de nuevas empresas por valor de 11.600 euros

The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council has approved the fourth remittance of municipal aid to support the creation of new companies and entrepreneurial projects registered throughout the year 2023, the financial amount of which amounts to 11,600 euros. The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, explained that these contributions are part of the line of aid launched last August by the City Council for a total amount of 80,000 euros and has advanced that in this resolution 13 new companies and self-employed workers have been benefited and have received between 800 and 1,200 euros for starting their business activity.

Mónica Gómez recalled that the objective of these grants is for “promotion and job creation in our city”, either through entrepreneurs who have established themselves in the last year as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm and are registered in the town, or as people not registered but who have registered as self-employed, with tax domicile in the city and have processed an opening license at Benidorm City Council between October 1, 2022 and September 30 2023, having also started its economic activity between these dates.

Regarding the business projects that will receive this aid, the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion explained that, in this fourth batch, as in the previous three, they cover various activities and services, which accounts for that “the business fabric of Benidorm is alive and constantly evolving.”

It is worth remembering that last year there were a total of 75 entrepreneurial projects that received this municipal aid, for which a total amount of 74,000 euros was allocated. Given this high number of aid granted, the Local Government Board agreed in this new edition of 2023, at the proposal of the Councilor for Employment, to double the amount initially planned, going from the 40,000 euros reserved in previous years to a total of 80,000 for this year.

Mónica Gómez has pointed out, however, that as has happened in previous editions, this budget “will be modulated according to the needs to try to meet the greatest number of requests possible”, which in the opinion of the councillor reflects “the sensitivity and commitment of this government for the local productive fabric and entrepreneurship.”

Regarding the aid granted so far, the number of small businesses and self-employed workers benefiting now amounts to 86, nine more than in the previous edition. Gómez pointed out that in the first batch, aid worth 24,400 euros was granted to a total of 25 entrepreneurial projects. In the second, there were 21,200 euros and 23 beneficiaries. In the third batch, there were another 25 proposals, for a total value of 22,800 euros. Finally, in this fourth round, aid has been approved for 13 projects for an amount of 11,600 euros.
