This transversal document places the young population in the main point of municipal actions
Benidorm already has its Youth Plan, the first in the city
The city of Benidorm already has its Youth Plan, the first in the history of the city. The plenary session of the Corporation approved yesterday with the votes of the local government the Young Plan, the document that "will mark the strategy and actions to be developed at the municipal level to improve the quality of life and opportunities of the young population between 12 years old and 30 years, which represents more than 22% of the total registered ”, as pointed out by the mayor of the area, Jaime Jesús Pérez.
The councilor has remarked that "with this Youth Plan we place youth at the main point of action, participation and community development of the City Council", since the document "has a transversal character". Pérez has detailed that the Young Plan functions as “the multi-year roadmap of the actions to be carried out and promoted by the City Council for the young population, and the objectives and resources available.
Pérez explained that this Youth Plan is structured "in three blocks" and establishes different actions, such as increasing the number of Youth Information Points, as well as advice and information to the young population on training options and employment programs , or the promotion of cultural creation and volunteering.
As he did yesterday during the plenary debate, the councillor thanked the youth population that “has actively participated in the development of this plan, taking part in the participation phases individually or collectively, and enriching this Youth Plan, made to the youth of Benidorm taking into account their contributions and needs ”.
The councillor stressed that "this Young Plan comes to culminate a reality: that this government team has always had in mind the young population among its priorities, seeking to improve not only their quality of life and opportunities but also providing them with spaces to healthy leisure and the exchange of experiences ”. In this sense, he recalled that “last week the youth hostel project to be built in Parque de la Séquia Mare was presented, within a building that will also have a library, a toy library and an interpretation center, and that it will be accompanied by a camping area ”. In addition, “the largest project of those envisaged in the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) is the rehabilitation of the square and the construction of a new building in which the central library and study rooms will coexist with a large Young Center".
