Benidorm advances the assembly of the Christmas lighting at the request of the merchants...

Benidorm City Council Fiestas Department has already started the assembly of the Christmas lighting, thus anticipating the usual dates "at the request of the Independent Association of Merchants (AICO)", as explained today by the councillor of the department, Jesús Carrobles. As in the previous year, this artistic lighting will be installed in the central area of Benidorm and in the main streets and / or avenues of the rest of the city's neighborhoods, where the largest number of shops and traffic of people are met.

Carrobles has indicated that "in an atypical year like this one, marked by the pandemic and its consequences, it is important to carry out measures that help boost economic activity, in this case commercial, which has been clearly affected by the health crisis" .

The forecast is that the lighting is ready "in mid-November, once the dates when our Major Patron Festivities have passed". Carrobles recalled that traditionally "the Christmas lighting was lit up during the first days of December, coinciding with the opening of the Christmas Square and the start of the special Christmas program".

"We believe that the presence of lighting can stimulate consumption by bringing the joy of Christmas to the streets," said the mayor.
