Andalusians in Benidorm celebrate Andalusia Day with traditional dances and dishes

Casa de Andalucía in Benidorm, more than ever, became the home of Andalusians residing in the city this Sunday, celebrating Andalusia Day with music, dancing, and traditional dishes. The president of the organisation, Leonor Jiménez, who was recognised yesterday in Alicante as ‘Andalusian of the Year’ by the Cultural Federation of Andalusia in Southern Valencia (FECUAS), and the 2026 Casa de Andalucía queens, Rocío Romero and Rocío Benavente, welcomed all the attendees. Among those present were the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros; and numerous members of the local council, who joined the Andalusians of Benidorm on their special day.

Also participating in the event were the queens of the 2026 Patron Saint Festivals, Laura Ivars Marín and Carmen Guillem Campos. The president of the Commission, Ramón Cano, and the president of the Association of Andalusian Supporters' Clubs ‘Verge del Sofratge’, Diego Carrasco, along with their boards, as well as representatives from other Andalusian associations in the province, such as the one in Alcoy.

The mayor highlighted that the Andalusian community in Benidorm is one of the largest in terms of population, with almost 10,000 residents, and emphasised the close ties that have always bound the city to Andalusia; in part, a result of the work carried out by the Andalusian Association as a link and promoter of its culture and traditions.

The playing of the official anthems of Andalusia and the Valencian Community brought the more formal part of the celebration to a close. The festivities continued into the late afternoon with the tasting of traditional Andalusian stew, music, and dancing.
