The Alliance of Municipalities of Sol y Playa has held an Extraordinary Assembly
The Alliance is made up of 8 pioneering tourist destinations in Spain: Adeje, Arona, Benidorm, Calvià, Lloret de Mar, Salou, San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Torremolinos. Their uniqueness in tourism and their commitment to digitizing the sector, as well as the basic principles that determine their activity under the principles of sustainability and accessibility, as well as cooperation between destinations, represent a set of common strengths that will allow them to maintain their leading position in the sector.
In today's session, they discussed organizational aspects of its operation, the development of the Tourist Municipality concept, communication issues and the technical secretariat, as well as the approval of the accounts for the year 2021 and the report on the progress of the Marketing working groups. and tourism promotion.
The digitization and integration of the Alliance as a whole in the DTI Platform managed by Segittur have focused a large part of the debates as well as the pooling and exchange of information on the Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destinations already presented and the resolution process.
Finally, the members of the Alliance have agreed, by the Statutes, to discuss and schedule the Assembly for next November where the change in the presidency for the next period will be decided.
The Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities (AMT) was formed in 2017 by bringing together the eight Spanish tourist municipalities that together have more than 60 million overnight stays. Among its objectives are the promotion and development of new knowledge-oriented to destinations, the promotion of research and the use of new technologies, the development of common projects to attract supra-municipal funds, promoting cooperation between administrations, companies and agents of the sector, enabling integration in similar national and international entities, promote collective strategies to increase competitiveness, develop synergies and joint strategies for urban innovation and promote training and qualification of employment in the tourism field.
