For the fourth consecutive year, the initiative is driven by the Neighborhood Council

For the fourth consecutive year, Benidorm joins the 'Clean up the world' campaign, which this Friday, September 14, will be held at 10.00 am in the area of El Moralet closest to the TRAM station. This was announced today by the Councilor for the Environment, José Ramón González de Zárate, and the members of the Neighborhood Council Christian Corraini and Francisca Fuster, who recalled that this community clean-up campaign is carried out worldwide.

Driven by the Neighborhood Council with the support of the Councils of Citizen Participation and Environment, in previous years the campaign has allowed to clean waste, rubbish and garbage around the coves of Ti Ximo and l'Almadraba, the island, the area Alta de l'Aigüera, the El Murtal ravine and the forested areas of El Moralet and Foietes, thus covering "the green ring that joins and crosses Levante and Poniente".

De Zárate explained that "since last week, from the Department of Urban Scene we are already working on this municipal plot" next to the TRAM station, which "the residents of Colonia Madrid use to park" and that "tomorrow will give access to the Greenway ". Regarding the Greenway, he recalled that the City Council requested two years ago to the Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory the assignment of use of the old route of the TRAM route, a request that has not yet been resolved.

The mayor has indicated that a municipal brigade, in collaboration with the concessionaire of the parks and gardens, these days doing work of clearing and pruning in this plot, thus facilitating the cleaning during the day of 'Clean up the world' . The objective, he said, is "to leave in perfect condition this green area and parking" located in one of the main entrances to Benidorm.

It is expected that "about 70 people" participate this year in the campaign 'Clean up the world' between members of neighborhood groups; the Double Love center; the associations Aspanion, Asmibe, Aerbeco and Ulpia Traiana; the Fire and Local Police collective; Red Cross staff; the concessionaires Actúa, Promotion of Constructions and Contracts (FCC) and Hidraqua; and volunteers and neighbors.

From the Neighborhood Council, Corraini has indicated that the neighborhood collective is aware and concerned about the consequences that may arise from a possible climate change; while Fuster added that beyond cleaning "the important thing of this campaign is to learn not to dirty"
