Benidorm City Council has hired - through the EMCORD program of the Social Initiative Program of the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Work - eleven long-term unemployed people to perform tasks of "conditioning and maintenance of urban public spaces" , as indicated by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mª Jesús Pinto. For the hiring of these eleven people, the City Council has received a grant of 101,491.77 euros, the total amount requested.

From today on and during six months, these eleven people - eight officers of 2nd masonry, painting and electricity, and three maintenance laboures - will work "hand in hand with the Municipal Technical Services and the Urban Scene Brigade". One of the first public spaces where they will act will be Parque de l'Aigüera to complete painting tasks.

The Councilor for Employment and Local Development has indicated that "one more year we have embraced this program that in previous editions has given good results to improve the chances of employment of people who, unfortunately, have been out of the labor market for some time" .

In addition to this program, the City Council has also received a grant of 104,505.95 euros for EMCORP - also financed with funds from the SEPE -, which will allow the hiring of unemployed people over 30 years. This program will start shortly, since the last procedures are being completed.
