37 establishments in Benidorm have already achieved a security badge against Covid19
The Tourist Info Benidorm Centro and Benidorm Rincón offices have achieved the recognition
15 more establishments in Benidorm, linked to the tourism sector, have managed to be certified before the Committee of Distinction to obtain the SICTED COVID stamp after the evaluation of the external audit and overcoming it on August 28. They join the 22 that already achieved it on July 31, which means that Benidorm has 37 establishments with the new Covid security badge.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, through the SICTED project, develops specific protocols for adaptation and integration in the new reality generated by the impact of SARS-CoV-19 on life and the tourism industry.
The Ministries of Tourism and Health, in collaboration with the Spanish Institute of Tourism Quality (ICTE), have developed initiatives of Advanced Good Practices to reduce the risk of contagion by coronavirus in the tourism sector. The establishments that adhere to the program have implementation these measures and their own contingency plans. Once audited and evaluated, the establishments that pass the phase receive the relevant certificate and stamp for their exhibition.
Benidorm now has 37 establishments that offer their customers a more controlled and secure service, which means that Benidorm continues to be among the top national destinations in the number of SICTED certified companies and services that have obtained the new distinctive.
The extraordinary Inter-destination Committee of August 28 agreed to grant the distinction, in the case of Benidorm, to six hotels (16 in total), two tourist apartment companies, two underwater activities companies, three leisure and commercial activities, and Tourist Info Benidorm Centro and Benidorm Rincón offices.
The main objective pursued by the initiative of the Secretary of State for Tourism is to generate confidence and security both in residents and in national and international visitors who enjoy Benidorm.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, highlighted that, with these 15 new certificates, "we achieved 37 distinctions and Benidorm's effort to adapt to the circumstances and betting on safety and quality is evident". It is, he said, an initiative “to minimize risk, seeking to offer maximum security to employees, tourists and residents.
The mayor recalled that this SICTED COVID distinction "is added to the local initiative Covid19 Protocol ON, thinking of the tourist and the resident and integrated into Benidorm DTI + Safe development, to offer the maximum guarantees, minimize problems and add security in the establishments of the city-tourism ”. For Pérez, these references help to build trust on the destination.
These 15 establishments, like the 22 that already achieved it in the July committee, have passed an external evaluation that guarantees strict compliance with all the requirements contained in the SICTED Covid-19 Advanced Good Practices manuals and protocols, with the aim of offer its customers a more controlled and secure service.
In this sense, Toni Pérez highlighted the efforts made by the companies: "quality certifications involve a lot of work and it is not easy to be encouraged to participate in this certification", for which he congratulated the newly distinguished ones.
