The major falleras of Benidorm Centro, Rincón and Els Tolls invited the city to participate in the Josefinas fiestas

The 'Crida' marks the beginning of Fallas Benidorm 2018

La ‘Crida’ marca el inicio de las fallas de Benidorm 2018

Benidorm is already in fallas. Hundreds of neighbors and visitors clothed the three fallas commissions of Benidorm in the 'Crida', the act that announces the start of the Josefinas fiestas in the city.

At 5.30 pm, falleros, falleras and musicians gathered in the avenue of Europe to march next in a parade to the street of Dr. Pérez Llorca, where the stage had been installed. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, were present at the event, accompanied by the ediles José Ramón González de Zárate, Lorenzo Martínez and Cristina Escoda.
In his parliament, Toni Pérez thanked the work done by the presidents and children presidents of the three commissions "for as much effort as you have done" because "the Fallas in Benidorm are prepared for the best" and, in addition, he advanced that the city awaits "a very festive month" with the celebration of the 278th anniversary of its patroness' discovery and its Fallas. "From tomorrow," Pérez said, "the city only thinks of March 16, the Virgin, and the Fallas."
On the new location of the act of the 'Crida', the mayor has said "that it will become a reference more" of the failures of Benidorm and has predicted that this year "time will respect us", alluding to the drops of fine rain that had accompanied the delegation during part of the tour.
Finally, the falleras of the commissions: Benidorm Centro, Loly Llopis and Verónica Buján; Rincón de Loix, Marina Vaquer and Verónica Gordillo; and Els Tolls, Lorena Jiménez and Lucía Diego, in a joint speech, encouraged the city to participate in its josephine festivities ending with the traditional "Vixca les falles i Vixca Benidorm!" and the interpretation of the hymns of Benidorm and Comunidad Valenciana
