Last few days for Benidorm families to apply for grants for Summer School attendance

13 Octubre 2026
Últimos días para que las familias de Benidorm puedan solicitar las ayudas por la asistencia a la Escuela de Verano

The City Council has allocated €18,000 for these grants, aimed at registered minors who participated in this program and did not receive a grant from the Social Welfare Department

The deadline is this Thursday, October 15

Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Education, informs families registered as residents in the city that the deadline to apply for financial aid for attending the Summer School program during July and August is approaching—provided they have not already received a grant for this same purpose from the Department of Social Welfare. The Councillor for the area, Maite Moreno, noted that the City Council has allocated a fund of €18,000 to partially subsidise the participation of local children in recreational and educational summer programs held at Benidorm’s early childhood and primary education centres, with the aim of helping families balance work and family life.

Moreno pointed out that the application period ends this Thursday, October 15, at 11:59 PM. Interested families must submit their applications online via the Benidorm City Council’s Electronic Office (Sede Electrónica) by navigating to the "Service Catalogue – EDUCATION" section and selecting the "Summer School Aid 2026" procedure. For families without access to electronic means, the Department of Education will set up an assistance point on the third floor of City Hall to facilitate the application process; in this case, applicants must provide a Cl@ve identification method.

Additionally, the councillor noted that applications submitted during the previous period—before the correction of errors and approval of the new terms and conditions—will be reviewed under the updated rules, so applicants do not need to reapply for the aid. To qualify for this aid, the guidelines require—among other conditions—that both the minor and the applicant parent be registered as residents in Benidorm for an uninterrupted period of one year before September 14, 2025; that they have minors aged 3 to 13 in their care who participate in activities covered by these guidelines; that they register for a Summer School program held at a Benidorm early childhood or primary education center and pay the enrollment and, where applicable, meal service fees; and that they be up to date with their tax obligations to the City Council and have no outstanding debts regarding any other tax-related matters.

Maite Moreno explained that, through this grant program, the City Council provides a standard aid payment to all registered children who have attended the Summer School. The amount awarded depends on the number of applicants and is subject to maximum limits: 95 euros for a full month of activities; 60 euros for full two-week periods (consecutive, not alternating); 50 euros for a full month of meal services; and 15 euros for full two-week periods (consecutive, not alternating) of meal services—provided that attendance reached 90% of the scheduled days.
