The Great Recital Series, organised by the Department of Culture of Benidorm City Council, returned yesterday to the municipal Assembly Hall with an acclaimed concert by the Young Talents of the José Pérez Barceló Municipal Professional Music Conservatory. A dozen students from different musical specialities took part, delighting the audience with all the pieces offered throughout the recital.

The program began with the work "Stubernic" by M. Ford, performed by percussionists Gabriel Fuster, Eric Rodríguez, and Rafael Domenech Ródenas. Next was the work "Variations on Porgy and Bess" by E. Sammut, performed by Saúl Arjona on the marimba. This was followed by "Concerto Op. 76 in G major, Allegro Maestoso," by Briot, with Cecilia Carballo on violin; F. Mendelssohn's Andante and Rondo Caprichoso, Op. 14, with Cristina Arbona on piano; F. Mendelssohn's Concert Piece No. 2, Op. 114, with Eric Polikit and Rubén Martínez on clarinet.

The following pieces were J. Vitols's Romance, with Alina Stulgaite on violin; Joaquín Turina's Fantastic Dances (exaltation), with Pedro Soler on piano; and Pedro Iturralde's Memoirs, which closed the concert, featured Elena García (soprano), Anouk Dom (alto), Nils Dom (tenor), and Joan Fuentes (baritone), as well as Professor Pedro Mercado, who participated in the recital as accompanying pianist.

The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, thanked the Conservatory students for their participation in the Great Recitals series and stated that it is "a unique opportunity for the students of our Conservatory to demonstrate their worth and for the public to learn about the level and excellence of this centre, its teachers, and its students."
