La sede de la UNED en Benidorm acoge un curso sobre ‘Desinformación y alfabetización digital’

The UNED headquarters in Denia in Benidorm will host a course on 'Disinformation and digital literacy' from July 3 to 5, a training that is part of the 35th edition of the UNED Summer Courses and will last 20 teaching hours.

The program begins at 4:30 p.m. on July 3 with the conference 'Disinformation campaigns, a risk for national security', by Alejandro González, representative of the Department of National Security (Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government). At 6:30 p.m., the professor of Communication at the University of Navarra, Charo Sádaba, will speak for two hours on 'The effects of fake news in the information society'.

On July 4, the day begins at 10 with the presentation 'Is it possible to build an ethical digital environment?' by Pedro Jesús Pérez Zafrilla, professor of Philosophy at the University of Valencia. At noon Leyre Burguera, professor of Constitutional Law, will offer a conference on 'Disinformation in electoral processes'. In the afternoon, at 4 p.m., the round table will take place.

'Transformations of public communication and citizenship in the non-digital environment and the day will end with the conference 'The speech of hate' by Amir Al Hasaní Maturano, professor of Constitutional Law at the University of the Balearic Islands.

On Friday, July 5, it will begin with another round table at 10 in the morning with the title 'Challenges of digital literacy' and two hours later the last conference will take place, with the title 'Advertising literacy in the digital environment' by Patricia Núñez Gómez, professor of Applied Communication at the Complutense University of Madrid.

The course will be completed with four hours of consultation of materials and active participation in the virtual course forum. Its objectives include providing attendees with a global vision of the main challenges posed by misinformation, raising awareness of the legal and ethical framework of communication in the digital context, explaining how to manage the information received and generated in the hyperspace from responsibility, raising the importance of media and information education for the responsible use of digital technologies and as a necessary complement to technical training, expose the origin and consequences on the political system of information manipulation on the Internet and, therefore lastly, address from a critical perspective the nature of communication in the digital sphere, including the structures and media through which it is developed.
