The Summer Educational Support Program ends, in which 80 Primary students have participated
This week the Summer Educational Support Program (PAEV), which is organized by the Department of Education and is aimed at Benidorm Primary School students who have not obtained good academic results throughout the course and need reinforcement classes to start the next course in better conditions. In total, 80 students have participated in this program in which, in addition to reinforcing curricular subjects, the students have worked on study techniques, attention games and verbal and mathematical reasoning.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, have visited today one of the last PAEV sessions, at CEIP Leonor Canalejas facilities. As in previous years, the PAEV has worked in two shifts, with two hours of class per day each from Monday to Friday. In the first shift, from 09:00 to 11:00, students from 2nd, 4th and 6th-year of Primary participated; from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the students of 1st, 3rd and 5th.
Toni Pérez has highlighted that "one more year, this resource offered by the Department of Education with the municipal staff has been very well received among the families of Benidorm, practically completing the places that were available". The mayor has pointed out that "in addition to being a very useful and necessary educational resource to help students who need educational reinforcement for the next course, the PAEV also favours the family, social and work-life balance of the families of these minors".
Benidorm City Council has awarded a scholarship to 40% of the participating students of the PAEV. Thus, discounts of up to 100% of the program's cost have been established for large families, single parents, with functional diversity, or with parents or guardians with a Jove Card, retirees or pensioners.
As the final act of the program, next Friday, the 26th, the students will receive their certificate from the mayor and the Councilor for Education.
