The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council has approved the basis of a new call for annual aid aimed at local non-profit entities and associations that carry out their activity within the field of social services, equality, and health. The Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, explained that this line of aid the Consistory “renews its commitment to local groups that daily work to improve the quality of life of people and groups that require special attention, thus promoting way integration and equal opportunities.”

The City Council is going to allocate 90,000 euros for this aid, with which a maximum of 12,000 euros can be subsidized for each entity that opts for them, for activities carried out between November 1, 2022, and October 30, 2023. as Ángela Zaragozí recalled. The deadline to request aid will open the day after the bases are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP) and will end after 15 calendar days.

Regarding the requirements to be able to attend the call, the Councilor for Social Welfare has explained that the entities or associations will have to be legally constituted and registered in the Registry of Associations of the Benidorm City Council and have started the activities to be subsidized, at least, six months before the publication of the bases. Likewise, they must have a stable, active headquarters open to the public with demonstrable opening hours in the municipality or serve the registered population residing in Benidorm in another location. They must also carry out activities aimed at improving the quality of life of the affected people, be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations and with the Benidorm City Council, as well as have justified any subsidy granted by the City Council in the annual payment. 2022.

The purpose of the subsidy will be therapeutic, rehabilitative, or social for the affected people, to improve their general psychophysical state and their adaptation to the activities of daily life, not being able to be the object of the same activities with a purely recreational purpose or those aimed at the prevention of addictive behaviors.

With the amounts granted, the City Council will contribute to financing the expenses of the staff who carry out these therapies or actions, up to 90% of their cost or a maximum of 12,000 euros.

A technical commission will be in charge of evaluating each of the applications, based on established requirements and according to the principles of publicity, transparency, competition, objectivity, equality, and non-discrimination.
