SM La Nova presents the CD 'De Oriente a Benidorm, el mágico viaje de los Reyes', with the music that is performed in the Parade
La Nova Musical Society has presented this Saturday the CD 'De Oriente a Benidorm, el mágico viaje de los Reyes', which includes the music that is performed every year in the Parade on January 5 and which is reflected in the symphonic suite ' The Three Wise Men', a work by the composer and director of the entity, Francisco José Rovira Peretó.
A six-beat suite that was played at the concert offered by SM La Nova at Plaza de la Navidad and attended by, among others, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the provincial deputy José Ramón González de Zárate; the Councilors for Culture and Festivals, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Jesús Carrobles; members of the Corporation; the Queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt; the president of the Commission, Vicente Solaz; and the president of the Penyes Association, Adrián Romero.
As noted during the recital, Benidorm is the only Spanish city that has its own music written for each of the historical elements of the Three Kings Parade and that is reflected in the times of the suite: 'The star and the Birth', 'Herod', 'The Shepherds', 'The Arab Souk', 'The Royal Entourage' and 'The Three Wise Men'. This suite, the soundtrack of Benidorm Parade, was composed from the story 'The story of the Three Kings of the East, written by Carlos López and with illustrations by the students of the Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores School.
Premiered in 2009, the author himself made an adaptation so that the suite could be performed during the Parade, something that has been done since 2016, as recalled by the mayor, who has ensured that this "extraordinary" piece constitutes "a sign of identity” of Benidorm and its Cavalcade. After pointing out that today's concert is "a preview of what we are going to experience on January 5", Toni Pérez stressed that the recording of the CD is "another achievement" for SM La Nova, which has "a great symphonic band” and “a great school of students”.
In addition to the 'Los Reyes Magos' suite, during the concert the band has performed some of the best-known Christmas carols that sound the most on these dates. Before, SM La Nova has recognized the people and entities that have collaborated in the recording and publishing project of the CD 'From the East to Benidorm, the magical trip of the Kings'; among them the Departments of Culture and Festivals of the City Council and the Provincial Council of Alicante.
The CD can be purchased at the SM La Nova facilities, located on Calle Virgen de la Macarena.
