Twelve teams from the Valencian Community will compete throughout the day at Antonio López Football Fields
The second Vicente Devesa Such Under-12 Football Tournament will be held tomorrow in Benidorm
The tournament, organised by Calvari sports club, is supported by the City Council and CF Benidorm and aims to "promote sports, in this case football, from the earliest stages of childhood development," stated the Councillor for Sports, Javier Jordá.
The councillor specified that the event will begin at nine in the morning and is expected to finish around 6:15 in the evening. "A whole day dedicated to grassroots football, the passion for the sport, camaraderie, and fun." Each team will play "a minimum" of six matches, with each half lasting 15 minutes. It's a "round-robin tournament where anyone can win," and he encouraged sports fans to enjoy "the healthy competition."
Javier Jordá thanked the organisation for promoting football among children and for "keeping alive" the memory of one of the people who "did so much for grassroots sport in Benidorm," the late Vicente Devesa Such, a career civil servant with the Benidorm City Council who worked in the Department of Sports and at the Guillermo Amor Sports Complex in Foietes.
