The second semi-final of the Benidorm Fest held last night at the Palau d’Esports l’Illa in Benidorm was again a success for its impact on the media and social networks. This is confirmed by the data released on Friday, according to which the broadcast on La 1 of Televisión Española attracted an average of 1,030,000 viewers and achieved an audience share of 11.7%, 1.2 points above the second semi-final of last year’s edition. In addition, on the social network ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Benidorm Fest once again positioned itself as a national and international ‘trending topic’ in this second gala, from which Melody, J Kbello, Mawot and Mel Ömana qualified to compete in the grand final on Saturday alongside Kuve, La Chispa, Daniela Blasco and Lucas Bun to lift the ‘Bronze Microphone’ and represent Spain in the Eurovision final to be held next May in Basel, Switzerland.

The hashtags #benidormfestsemi2, #benidormfest2024 and #benidormfest reached first place among national and international trends, with followers in 84 countries. Over 135,000 total mentions were recorded throughout the day, while between 10:00 p.m. and midnight, in parallel with the broadcast of the gala, there were over 108,000, with a potential reach that, according to the social network, could be estimated at 207 million people, as reflected in the big data study prepared by Visit Benidorm.

In Spain, the event was most followed, with 67.40% of the audience on social networks. Colombia followed (18.78%), followed by Venezuela, or the United States, although there were also posts from other more remote areas such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Indonesia or Japan, among others.

In terms of television impact, the second Benidorm Fest gala on RTVE garnered an 11.7% share of the audience on conventional television, which was 1.2 points more than the second semi-final in 2024, and placed this musical contest as the most watched programme in its time slot. The average number of viewers was 1,030,000, although up to 3,063,000 people followed the gala at some point during the night, contributing 14.8% of La 1's audience for the day (10.6%) and placing it 10.4% above the daily average.

Order of performances in the final

The eight people who qualified for the grand final took part in a press conference held this Friday at the Palau d’Esports l’Illa in Benidorm, together with the director of Communication and Participation of RTVE, María Eizaguirre, which was attended by, among others, the Councillor for Festivals and Events, Jesús Carrobles.

The draw was also held at this event to determine the order in which the finalists will participate in this Saturday’s gala, which featured the winners of the third edition of the Benidorm Fest, Mark Dasousa and María Bas, from Nebulossa.

As luck would have it, Daniela Blasco will open the gala, and sing in first place. Following her will be Kuve, Mawot, Lachispa, Mel Ömana, J KBello, Lucas Bun and Melody, who will compete in this order to win the bronze microphone and represent Spain in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 17.
