The Mayor's Office announces the new beach hours that comes into effect today. Benidorm beaches will remain open to the enjoyment of beach users between 9 am and 8:30 pm.

The hours for walks on the beach continue between 7 and 8'45 hours and the new hours to use the beach to occupy plots will be between 9 and 20:30. Until yesterday, this timetable was extended until 9:30 p.m.

In the text of the Edict it is stated that "in general, the hours for bathing and staying on the beaches and coves will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., in any case they must be free until 9:00 a.m. the next day, prohibiting the stay and walks of people outside these times (from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.), except for cleaning, surveillance and security services.

The Edict remembers that the beaches and coves can only be accessed through authorized places, recommending that users wear footwear adapted to the surface (walkways, ramps, etc.) within the regulated hours, after passing through the points access enabled when authorized by the control personnel thereof.

The distinction of three types of spaces defined in the Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas beaches is maintained: the hammock space, according to the concession rules; the space for people over 60 years of age or vulnerable of any age (spaces delimited with green color) and the public space in general for the rest of the population and people over 60 or vulnerable of any age who, according to their will, thus they wish (spaces delimited with blue color).

The possibility of walking along the shore of the beach is still in force, keeping in any case the minimum safety distance of 1.5 meters, the use of a mask is mandatory, according to RDL 21/2020 of June 9, of urgent prevention measures , containment and coordination to face the health crisis caused by COVID-19, if the established physical distance cannot be maintained. A 6-meter walk area continues to be enabled from the shore to the stay area where it is not possible to remain seated, lying down or still, except in the case of children under 10 years of age. For the rest of the population, it is only a transit zone.

Sports practice is authorized in permanently enabled areas (beach volleyball and football beach), attending at all times to the safety and hygienic-sanitary measures established by the Government of Spain for sports. In any case, the realization of all kinds of games outside the established areas, such as ball games, paddles, etc.

When meeting with other people or groups of people who do not live together, both in the bathing area and in the sand area, the interpersonal safety distance of 1.5 meters will be kept.

The use of footbath is limited to leaving the beach. The use of them must be done with suitable footwear. The use of soaps is not allowed and, at all times, users must maintain a separation distance of 1.5 meters.

Trash bins are eliminated in all areas of stay on the beaches to avoid contagion risks. Therefore, it is expressly forbidden to deposit and / or abandon any type of object and / or waste on the beaches and coves when they are abandoned. The waste generated during the stay on the beaches and coves must be deposited in suitable bags and removed from the beaches and coves by the people who generated them.

Children's games, devices to do gymnastics, calisthenics or others will remain closed, not being able to be used, and the library beaches will be closed in their usual services.

It is recalled that the indications for the access to the beaches and coves, as well as the information and accommodation personnel to the assigned beach areas must be followed; otherwise, they will be proposed for complaint and sanction by the police and beach inspection services.

The sanctions regime for non-compliance is maintained.
