Mobility reports on traffic diversions and closures due to the Fallas festival in Benidorm
Benidorm City Council's Department of Mobility has announced the first road closures and traffic diversions that will be in effect starting this week for the Fallas festival. These closures are located in the areas near where the festival monuments are erected. Specifically, the first closures will affect the areas where the fairs, monuments, and/or fallas association headquarters (casales) of Els Tolls and Rincón de Loix are set up.
In the city centre, due to the installation of Els Tolls Fallas fair, the section of Tomás Ortuño Street between Venus Street and Ondulada Street will be closed to traffic starting this Friday, March 13, at 11:30 p.m. The closure will last for one week, until Friday, March 20, at 3:00 a.m. During this time, vehicle access from Ondulada and Maravall streets to El Cruce will remain open.
Furthermore, in Rincón de Loix, the section of Ametlla del Mar Avenue from Estocolmo Street to Madrid Avenue, where the Fallas committee's tent is located, is already closed to traffic. This closure will be extended to Mediterráneo Avenue starting Thursday night, March 13, and will remain in effect until March 21.
The Department of Mobility has indicated that, in addition to these road closures, there will also be occasional closures starting Tuesday, March 17, due to events related to the Fallas festival, such as parades, processions, fireworks displays, and the burning of the monuments.
Please note the road closures due to the mascletàs of Falla Els Tolls and Benidorm on Thursday, March 19, Saint Joseph's Day, at 2:00 p.m., which will involve the closure to traffic of the section of Tomás Ortuño between the streets Ondulada-Maravall and El Cruce between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; as well as the closure of Otoño street from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
