Jaume Fuster and Joan Fuster present the comic book 'La Torre de Les Caletes, a la vora del abisme' edited by Commissió de Festes Majors Patronals

About 200 people have attended this morning to the presentation of the comic book 'La Torre de Les Caletes, a la vora del abismo', which has been held in Benidorm Town Hall. Together with the authors of the comic book, Jaume Fuster and Joan Fuster, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the councilwoman of Culture and Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer; and the president of the Commission of Major Festivities 2017, Antonio Vicente Fuster.
In the presentation the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles was present, as well as the Queens and her Court of Honor; and several councilors of the different groups of the municipal corporation. The comic is edited by the Commission of Festes Majors Patronals 2017 and can already be bought at Fira del 9 d'Octubre, located at Gambo and Martínez Alejos streets, at a price of 9 euros.
Toni Pérez has stated that "this is a choral and spectacular work, which has involved a very important work of documentation and a field work not less important." The mayor has recognized that "the recovery of the Tower of Les Caletes and Punta del Cavall was one of the pending subjects to put value in our heritage", and announced that "very soon our tower will be ready to be shown, visited and that everyone knows it. "
Ana Pellicer highlighted "the work that is being carried out in the rehabilitation of La Torre de les Caletes, a sixteenth-century watchtower located at Punta del Cavall, which has been declared a Property of Cultural Interest." The investment that is being made in this restoration and study, together with the consolidation of the cliff, amounts to 350,000 euros and is run by the Ministry of Environment.
Antonio Vicente Fuster has stated that "it is a pride to participate and promote an initiative that serves to recover part of our history," and has shown his desire for the people of Benidorm to buy the comic in the stands of the fair.
Jaume Fuster and Joan Fuster have explained the process of making the comic, the choice of the characters and how they have formed a story with some suspense to explain what Tower of Les Caletes was. Both have explained that the child who plays the character of the story in the comic is a character based on the figure of Pere María Orts Verdí, father of Pere María Orts and Bosch; as well as the blog of Francisco Amillo has also facilitated the work of documentation of history.
