The illusion of thousands of children welcomes the Three Wise Men's parade in Benidorm

The Three Wise Men arrived in Benidorm early in the afternoon, at Paseo de Elche, where they were received by the Councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles and the hundreds of people who were preparing to stage the Welcome Parade that it would start shortly after, at 6:00 p.m., filling the city center with magic and illusion. The royal entourage has toured Avenida de los Almendros, Marte, Venus, Ruzafa and Herrerías streets until reaching the Christmas Square where thousands of children were waiting for them and where an apotheosis fireworks castle announcing their arrival took place. A few hours before, the Three Wise Men had already received the love of the little ones in ​​La Cala and La Huerta districts.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, welcomed Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar on behalf of the people of Benidorm and thanked them for their presence in the city "for bringing us the illusion and for making us happy," he said. The mayor thanked all those who have made possible the arrival of their Majesties to Benidorm "to fill with smiles, excitement and brightness the faces of our children, who have behaved very well and perhaps the best gift they ask, "he added," is that we are all happy and that the Kings bring health, peace and prosperity to all homes in Benidorm and the world. "

At the Christmas square the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, together with other members of the Corporation, in addition to the queens of Festes Majors Patronals of Benidorm 2019, Marina Carrillo and Paula Sanz and their court of honor, were also waiting for them.

Twelve floats have participated in the procession and it has been divided into two parts. The first has been starring the most popular children's characters in films and television. The second one, has remembered the history of the Three Wise Men and how they came to the Bethlehem portal. In the parade it has been possible to see the impressive Roman century, played by Armados de Orihuela; the king of Judea, Herod, and his great entourage; the living Bethlehem, interpreted by 'La Barqueta'; farmers, shepherds and artisans accompanied by their animals: oxen, donkeys, sheep, goats and geese.

The musical note of the parade was run by the three Benidorm bands: Unió Musical, L'Illa de Benidorm and La Nova, accompanied by the 'Xirimiters' of the Marina. The firefighters of the Baixa Marina Regional Park, Civil Protection and Red Cross volunteers, and a strong Local Police device also participated so that everything was without incidents.

Throughout the tour, the Department of Fiestas has distributed more than 3,000 kilos of sweets and thousands of gifts and toys, as well as stories with the history of the Kings, published by the City Council. The parade ended with a pyrotechnic show. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, after attending the children at the Christmas square, said goodbye and began to tour the city to distribute the gifts that tomorrow morning the children of Benidorm will enjoy.
