The exhibition of the XXIII La Barqueta Drawing and Painting Competition shows 320 works by primary school students
The exhibition of the 23rd edition of La Barqueta School Drawing and Painting Competition, organised annually by the cultural and recreational association in collaboration with Benidorm City Council, is now open to the public at Casa del Fester.
An institutional delegation, headed by the Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and other members of the municipal corporation, accompanied La Barqueta and its president, Francisco Llorens, known as ‘Paco Rosera’, at the opening of the exhibition, which will remain open until March 16th.
This year, 1,584 works were submitted by students from all three cycles of Primary Education and Special Education from all the city's schools. The organisers have selected 320 of these to compete for the prizes. Specifically, 101 drawings were selected from the first cycle of Primary Education; 113 students from the second cycle and 106 from the third cycle were selected. In addition, two students from the Special Education program at the Leonor Canalejas school were also chosen.
Next Thursday, March 12, the Cultural Centre auditorium will host this year's awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m., recognising approximately one hundred young artists from Benidorm.
