The spokesman of the municipal government, González de Zárate, appeals to dialogue and consensus to solve the file without being a load to the City council

The document of the Bus Station appears in the area of Intervention

01 October 2018
El documento de la Estación de Autobuses aparece en el área de Intervención

The spokesman of the Municipal Group of the Popular Party, José Ramón González de Zárate, has appeared to refute the statements of the spokesmen of the opposition, in relation to the appearance of the document signed by the businessman Enrique Ortiz, in which he accepted that it was the new concessionaire who will pay compensation in case of termination of the contract.

De Zárate explained that "with the aim of shedding some light on an issue and for the maximum transparency, when some questioned the existence of that document, I appeared and, to assist in the clarification of this matter, I delivered a copy of the document that I know that until September 22, 2009, the date of the motion of censure, was in the file of the Bus Station. Today, almost 10 years later, what has been verified (actually since last Friday, which is when it was immediately transferred to all the members of the Corporation by the General Secretariat following instructions from the Mayor's Office), is that an original copy of the document he was looking for, apparently the document was always in this Town Hall and, as manifested by the person who delivered it to the Mayor's Office, it was in the intervention offices. It shows that this document has not left the house and that, at no time, that copy has been kept by no politician of any party. "

The spokesman also explained that "in the last full session, and because of the copy I gave, some opposition groups raised a motion to address this issue. The predisposition and transparency of this government has been full. And now, when there will be thing undoubtedly be things to clarify as it will be seen in that commission, some rush to make value judgments, moving conjectures and interpretations and drawing conclusions before even approving the creation of that commission.

He added that "what is really important is to find a definitive solution to the problem of the Bus Station and, once and for all, from the dialogue and with the maximum consensus, to tender its management so that the people of Benidorm and the municipal coffers do not cost you a penny of euro ".

"We with this issue," he continued, "since 2008 and 2009 we have acted with absolute transparency and following all technical criteria and external consultants hired by technicians to find the solution. The Government Team, in this term, we are in the same position. That the municipal technicians of Secretariat, of Contracting and of Intervention say what is the road map to look for the solution to the Station of Buses. And following that road map, we have two or three plenary sessions in which the opposition leaves on the table proposals that seek the solution of the Bus Station. It seems that the only flag that now has some members of the opposition, which by the way governed the councils of Planning and Contracting with opacity and committing the biggest outrages in the history of this City Council, is that the bus station is not solved . Make noise, try to wash your hands and avoid your responsibilities blaming others. "

González de Zárate stressed that "today it is necessary to appeal to this opposition and which has never had responsibilities of the government to act with coherence. Consistency so that we stop foolishness. Unfortunately for some there is no politician who had the famous piece of paper, so we go to what we have to go, which is what Benidorm expects: find and find the solution for the Benidorm Bus Station ".

"And also, two important things," he concluded, "in the first place I ask the opposition not to doubt at any time of any public official because I believe they are doing their work responsibly and that they are looking for a solution. And, on the other hand, they do not want to transfer big headlines to bring these matters before the Prosecutor's Office all this issue because, as they and they know perfectly and must know all the citizenship, for more than a year, when the Prosecutor's Office opened some preliminary proceedings and the police came to this City Council, the municipal secretary has precise instructions from the Mayor's office to send each and every one of the documents of this file, as well as everything that is taking place in relation to the Bus Station to the Prosecutor's Office, as it is doing. It is not necessary therefore that they ask for it or that they announce that they are going to take it. It is an obligation and a responsibility of the Secretariat and that is how it is acting ".
