Benidorm will have ready the basic project of the new police station at the end of May

21 April 2017
Benidorm tendrá listo el proyecto básico de la nueva comisaría a finales de mayo

The government will present it publicly and forward it immediately to the Interior to prepare the execution project

Caselles claims that her predecessors "did nothing" and "just started the file to give press conferences"

Benidorm City Council will have "ready before the end of May" the basic project for the future police station of the National Police Corps that the Ministry of Interior must build in the Waterfall, in a municipal plot ceded by the Consistory and located opposite the Palace of Justice and the headquarters of the Valencian Institute of Tourist Technologies (Invattur).

The Councilor for General Heritage and Urban Planning, Lourdes Caselles, has reported that the municipal technicians in the area of Architecture and an external firm hired for the City Council are working on the drafting of this project since the end of February and from the Needs Plan transferred by the Ministry.

Caselles explained that the technicians have visited the facilities of the current police station to "see their operation and their daily real needs, and seek suggestions" in order to "accommodate them in the basic project" to be sent to Madrid, and from which The Ministry should draft the implementation project. He also pointed out that the municipal and external technicians are advancing in engineering matters to simplify the drafting of the execution project to Interior and thus shorten the deadlines "so that this new police station becomes a reality as soon as possible."

According to the councillor, the intention of the local government is to publicly present the basic project to the public, with an explanatory video with the details of the infrastructure, scale model 1/200 and 3D images.

The head of Heritage and Urban Planning has qualified that the construction of the new police station is not included in the General State Budget for 2017 because the basic project has not yet been completed, although it has clarified that this circumstance is not attributable to the municipal government or To the Central Government. Thus, and as he has reported, "when we arrived at the government we saw that our predecessors, the socialist lords Agustín Navarro and Rubén Martínez, had not done anything, in fact only had begun the file of cession of the ground to give press conferences. They did not even inform the technicians that they had assumed the commitment to the Ministry that it would be the City Council that would draft the basic project. "

Caselles added that "we started working on the basic project when in a meeting held by the mayor, Toni Pérez, with the Ministry was informed that the previous government of Benidorm was committed to draft the basic project." "Since we arrived at the government," he said, "we have not stopped working for and for the transfer of land, and for and for the construction of this police station," something that "the PSOE spokesman knows perfectly well because he has been informed in Information commissions and Boards of Government ".

The plenary agreed in August 2015 the assignment of the plot, which subsequently had to change the rating by indications of the Ministry itself.
