Benidorm undertakes improvement works in all schools and nursery schools for the start of the course

Benidorm acomete actuaciones de mejora y reparación en todos los colegios y escuelas infantiles de cara al inicio de curso

Benidorm City Council, as in previous years, is carrying out works to improve and adapt the city's educational centers so that everything is ready for the start of the school year, which will take place on September 11.

Thus, the main works are focused on gardening, painting, and repairs that have affected all the schools in the town, the municipal nursery schools of Les Fontanelles, Les Caletes, and El Tossalet, and the Center for Adults.

Given the summary of actions, the most notable thing is that gardening works have been carried out in almost all of the primary and early childhood education centers, with hedge trimming, tree pruning, and cleaning of pruning remains and gardens. and species planting.

Similarly, the facades, walls, rooms, and playgrounds of Ausias March, Aitana, Leonor Canalejas, Serra Gelada schools, and El Tossalet Municipal Nursery School have been painted.

In addition, all kinds of repairs that affected pipes, doors, windows, blinds, water connections, W.C., taps, air conditioners, mirrors, electricity, blackboards, locksmithing, welding, school gardens, fences, etc. have been carried out. Inspections have also been made to the lighting of the playgrounds and improvements in lighting where it was needed.

The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, and the Councilor for Urban Scene, Francis Muñoz, visited some centers this morning to check the status of the works carried out. Moreno recalled that "these are actions that we carry out every year during the summer holidays to get the schools ready before the start of the course."

The councillor indicated that they are "necessary actions that the centers themselves transmit to us and that are executed by the municipal technical services and the awarded companies, so everything is done with municipal resources."

All these repair and clean-up actions are complemented by the installation of photovoltaic modules, which have already been completed. These works have been carried out in eight schools and the UNED building and the Official Languages School and were part of the Energy Efficiency Project, which also extends to four public buildings and which, in total, represents an investment of 1,045 450.06 euros, of which 504,297.46 euros, 48% of the global amount, comes from a subsidy from European funds granted by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).

The project included the installation of 1,364 photovoltaic modules and will mean a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere of just over 375 tons, as well as significant savings on energy bills. The modules have been implemented in Ausias March, Bautista Lledó, La Cala, Mestre Gaspar López, Miguel Hernández, Serra Gelada, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Els Toll's schools, and Les Fontanelles Nursery School,

The installation of photovoltaic panels in the building of the Official Language School and the UNED has been carried out as part of the improvements to the project.
