The low season is taken advantage of as there is less traffic and less influx in the parks

Benidorm starts a new campaign to wash the streets in all the neighborhoods of the city

02 February 2023
Limpieza baldeos

The Department of Street Cleaning of Benidorm City Council, through the concessionary company of Street Cleaning -Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC)-, began yesterday a new street cleaning campaign that will reach all neighborhoods and suburban areas of the city.

This was reported by the Councilor for Street Cleaning and the Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, who has advanced that this washdown campaign will affect public roads, setbacks, children's play areas, bio-healthy areas, etc., and will include the clearing of some areas that need it.

The campaign, which will run until March 17, takes place during these low season dates "because it is the best time to carry out these tasks since there are hardly any parties and events and it is easier to act than in summer, in addition to the fact that the traffic is less, there is less influx in playgrounds and it is now when the leaves fall" said González de Zárate. The councillor also specified that these dates will be used "to clean all the parking lots in the city."

The councillor made an "appeal" to the public to notify the Department of Street Cleaning of the areas in which they consider it necessary to act and "we will try to do it as soon as possible."

The flushing campaign, which has begun in the La Cala area, will be carried out from Monday to Friday in two shifts. The night shift will operate with a tank truck, a pressure washer, sweeper, blower, and brushcutter, a driver, and two washdown workers and a driver worker. The morning shift, for its part, will have a hydro-cleaning vehicle, two blowers and brush cutters, a driver, and two cleaning laborers. The councilor insisted that he contacted the neighborhood associations "to address their concerns and needs and tell us where it is most necessary to act."
