Benidorm prepares for Carnival

Benidorm is already preparing for the Carnival that once again is organized by the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' with the support of the Department of Fiestas. The councillor of the department, Jesús Carrobles, and the president of the Association, Ramón Cano, have transferred today the details of the Children's and Adult Carnival parades, which will be held on Saturday, February 18 and for which the Registration deadline.

A registration that can be formalized until next February 14 on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the office of the Associació de Penyes de la Casa del Fester, filling in the application form available on the entity's social networks and on the House of Fester itself. However, in the case of the Children's Carnival, registrations will also be allowed on the same day of the parade between 09:00 and 10:00.

Carrobles and Cano have encouraged citizens to participate in the Carnival, "an appointment with which Benidorm always turns and which occupies a prominent place in our festive calendar". Both have explained that "as usual, prizes have been established in the Individual and Group categories both in the Children's Carnival and in the Adult, all of them in cash."

In the case of the smallest, three prizes have been set in each category, for amounts ranging from 100 to 300 euros in the case of Groups, and from 50 to 100 euros in the Individual modality. In the Adult, there will be three prizes of 100, 200, and 300 euros in the Individual category, and eight prizes for Groups: three of 100 euros, and the rest of 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1,000 euros.

The organization has summoned the participants in the Children's Carnival at 10:00 a.m. on Escuelas street, from where the parade will start 30 minutes later, which will go through Ruzafa and Herrerías streets to the Plaza de SSMM Reyes de España, where at the end there will be animation and a lunch for the little ones, as well as bars at popular prices. Throughout the morning, and once the jury's deliberation is complete, the prizes will be delivered.

At night, the participants of the Adult Carnival will gather at 8:30 p.m. on Tomás Ortuño street with Venus. From this point, the parade will depart half an hour later, following the same route as the Children's Carnival. At the end of the parade, the party presented and enlivened by Los 40 and Radio Benidorm will begin in the auditorium, in which there will also be a bar at popular prices.

In addition, this year, as a novelty, the Associació de Penyes will hold an 'afternoon' in the same Plaza de SSMM Reyes de España.
Benidorm will say goodbye to Carnival on Tuesday, February 21 with the Burial of the Sardine, which will begin at 9:00 p.m. at Plaza Mayor.
