The selective waste collection capacity on Avenida Beniardá will be significantly expanded with the commissioning of the new underground containers installed by the City Council, and new containers similar to those recently installed in l'Hort de Colón or Ramos Carratalá Street.

These new containers will come into service today, the date on which the completion of the works that have been carried out in the block comprised of Beniardá Avenue, Alfonso Puchades, and Orxeta Street is scheduled for the improvement of accessibility, pavement, and infrastructure renovation. Works corresponding to the first phase of the renovation of this avenue.

In this way, a glass container, two cardboard paper, and three containers have been placed, while the organic waste will continue to be on the surface "because the collection in this area is done with side-loading trucks" explained the councilor for Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate.

"This area has always been one of the points where the greatest amount of collection takes place and that is why it has been decided to reinforce it and increase capacity," said the mayor. Therefore, the new underground containers will have a capacity of 3,700 liters instead of the 3,000 liters that the previous ones had. "Not only did we almost triple the collection and storage capacity for the residents of Beniardá and Colonia Madrid, but we also greatly improved the image and aesthetics of the area," said González de Zárate, who also revealed that "it is improving the mobility of people.
