Benidorm confirms its willingness to adhere to the agreement to inspect and sanction tourist apartments
Benidorm City Council has ratified in the International Tourism Fair, Fitur, its willingness to adhere to the agreement signed by the Generalitat Valenciana and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) to delegate to the city councils the jurisdiction for the initiation, instruction and resolution of sanctioning procedures for the commission of minor, serious and serious infractions about tourist housing located in their territorial area.
The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, has participated in the signing of the good-will statement to be part of this agreement together with councillors and mayors of Valencia, Alicante, Elche, Torrevieja and Castellón de la Plana, the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and the president of the FVPM and mayor of Benicarló, Juan Manuel Cerdá.
In this way, and after being the first municipality in the Valencian Community to request the power to inspect and sanction tourist apartments last September, Benidorm is also among the first six municipalities that will soon assume these powers to combat the intrusion of unregulated housing in the accommodation sector.
