Benidorm completes the improvement of access to the Els Tolls, Puig Campana and EIM Les Fontanelles next to Italia street

Benidorm City Council has already completed the works to improve the access road to  Els Tolls, Puig Campana schools, and Les Fontanelles Municipal Nursery School, work that began last October. Once finished, the mayor Toni Pérez, the councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, and the councilor for Mobility and Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate visited it.

The work itself has consisted of paving a path that was previously gravel. This path, 260 meters long, runs almost parallel to Calle Italia and along a good part of the perimeter of the schools. The work obeyed a request from the parents of the students, since the previous state of the same made pedestrian traffic difficult and uncomfortable, especially when there were episodes of rain.

The work has involved paving the road and leaving a width of four meters "so that it is comfortable, clean and accessible", explained the mayor, who also specified that the works have included the renovation of all the lighting.

Pérez stressed that "it was a request made to us by the parents of the students of these schools, who walk this path and that it was often uncomfortable for them." With this intervention, the mayor has added, "we leave the area completely accessible and greatly improve pedestrian traffic."

However, the mayor has also asked for "awareness" to parents who go with their vehicles to schools "so that they park in the parking lot next to the educational centers instead of doing it in double queue", an area that also has been conditioned.

This action has been located on the plot ceded to the Generalitat for the construction of the Els Tolls health center. "We have left it clean and prepared for parking, but we are not going to pave it because we continue to demand that the regional administration do the health center, something that will be a priority for the city as soon as the PP governs the Generalitat" added Toni Perez.
