Benidorm closed yesterday the first National Congress of Local Police, which took place throughout the day in Terra Mítica and continues today with activities focused on demonstrations and exhibitions. Throughout the day, the congress included presentations by Supreme Court magistrates, police officers and experts on various current issues for the force closed by the Minister of Justice, Elisa Núñez, who spoke, accompanied by the mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, and the regional deputy José Ramón González de Zárate, as well as the Councilor for Citizen Security, Jesús Carrobles.

The organizers thanked the City Council for the facilities to organize the event and called on other municipalities to host the next edition of the congress.

For her part, the councillor, who received a plaque of gratitude from the main mayor of Benidorm, Luis Martín Arévalo, also advocated for “modifying the current legislation and providing the town councils with the necessary tools to alleviate the shortcomings they have and that Many times ordinary citizens suffer.” Núñez insisted on the need to change the law “and strengthen alliances between police forces,” while she announced that the autonomous administration will give “a great boost to the Generalitat police and local police forces.”
