The City Council is going to mobilize more than 6 million euros for these calls
Benidorm approves the rules for the new phase of Parenthesis Grants and those aimed at the accommodation sector
The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today the bases that will govern the new aid aimed at the productive fabric of Benidorm, which are divided into two different calls and "for which more than 6 million euros will be mobilized." As explained by the mayor, Toni Pérez, “on the one hand, the green light has been given to the bases of the new phase of Parenthesis Aid; and on the other, the bases of a 100% municipal aid line aimed at the city's accommodation sector: hotels, campsites, pensions, hostels, apartments and management companies ”.
Toni Pérez has clarified that “with both lines of aid we try to reach the maximum possible number of companies and self employed in the city, trying to reach with this economic injection all those who struggle to maintain their activity and employment despite the harsh effects of the pandemic and that for various reasons they have not been able to benefit from the first phase of 'Parenthesis Grants' or other calls for aid ”.
"For this," he pointed out, "in the second call for ‘ Parenthesis Grants ’we work in two directions. On the one hand, we open these aids to commercial and self-employed people from the sectors included in the first call but who do not have their fiscal domicile in Benidorm but do carry out their activity in our city, as they have an establishment there ”. "On the other hand," he added, we are extending these aids to companies and professionals with tax domicile in Benidorm and who are attached to CNAEs that were not initially included by the Generalitat Valenciana in the ‘Parenthesis Aid’ ". Specifically, in this second phase, sectors related to commerce, taxis, hairdressers and beauty centers or washing and dry cleaning centers will be able to benefit from this aid.
The procedure and amounts of this second call for ‘Parenthesis Aids’ will be exactly the same as in the first, in such a way that companies and professionals will receive an additional 2,000 and 200 euros aid for each registered worker.
The mayor has specified that "the bases approved today must now be published in the National Subsidy Advertising System and in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP)." The deadline for submitting applications will be fifteen business days, beginning at 09.00 hours on the fifth business day following publication in the BOP and processing through the web: https://sede.benidorm.org.
In this way, "by opening the term days after publication, we give companies and professionals better time allowance to collect all the necessary documentation."
After recalling that in the first call for 'Parenthesis Grants' nearly 900 companies and self employed have been attended, the mayor has detailed that for this second phase about 3.2 million euros will be allocated, financed by the Generalitat, the Provincial Council of Alicante and the City Council.
The second line of aid approved today, for which 3 million euros are mobilized, is expressly directed to the accommodation sector; establishments and companies "that are part of our main industry, that have been clearly affected by the pandemic and by the fall in tourist activity and that in some cases have not yet resumed this activity."
These grants, "of a municipal nature and financed 100% with the City Council's own resources", provide benefits that "range from 1,000 to 90,000 euros depending on the category and number of rooms or apartments in the establishment."
After today's approval, the bases for these grants will be published in the National System and in the BOP. The deadline for submitting applications will be ten business days, starting at 09:00 on the fifth business day following publication in the BOP and processing through the web: https://sede.benidorm.org.
