Benidorm approves the agreement with Doble Amor center for a value of 170,000 euros
The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm City Council has today approved the regulatory agreement with the Doble Amor for which the Occupational Center will receive a subsidy of 170,000 euros charged to the budget for this year. According to the JGL agreement, Doble Amor will receive the amount of 70,000 upon signing the agreement "and the rest at the request of the entity."
The City Council, once again, has considered "the outstanding work carried out by the Doble Amor Association and the direct collaboration it provides to this City Council in carrying out activities and programs aimed at the group of people with functional diversity and their families, will make it worthy of a municipal monetary provision that enables the achievement of its commendable and disinterested social purposes”.
According to the agreement signed between both parties, Doble Amor will continue to develop occupational workshops for people with functional diversity, will be in charge of maintaining the association's headquarters and facilities, and will manage the transport of Benidorm users to the occupational center dependent on the entity during the present year.
Doble Amor center carries out "a" commendable work that for more than forty years has ensured the improvement of the quality of life of its users" indicated the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca. The councilor highlighted "the commitment of Benidorm City Council with the association and with the work it carries out to promote the integration of people with functional diversity, to promote their job opportunities and achieve their maximum personal development, involving the families of students".
Likewise, she considered that "the collaboration and involvement of all public administrations are essential to ensure the activity of the Occupational and Employment centers managed by the Association".
The Association has an Occupational Center that cares for some 58 people with intellectual disabilities from Benidorm and the Marina Baixa and has a dozen direct care and service professionals.
