Benidorm approves 160 new aid to children from 3 to 5 years old for the purchase of school supplies
The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council has approved this Monday the third remittance of municipal aid for the purchase of school supplies aimed at children aged 3 to 5 years registered in the city and who are in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education in the thirteen public schools. and one agreed upon by the municipality. The total amount of this aid amounts to 10,080 euros, while the number of beneficiaries reaches 160 minors, which are added to the applications that have already been approved to date.
The Councilor for Education of Benidorm City Council, Maite Moreno, recalled that the amount of the municipal contribution this year amounts to 63 euros for each minor. Likewise, the councilor explained that within this proposal approved by the Government Board, the applications that were submitted between July 1 and 31 are resolved, once the municipal Department of Education has verified that the requesting families meet the requirements. , conditions, and obligations established on the basis of the call for the 2023-2024 academic year. To these already recognized beneficiaries, “more will be added, as the applications received during the months of August and September are resolved,” Moreno said.
The person in charge of the educational department recalled that the objective of this direct aid is “to help families reduce the expense they have to face at the beginning of the school year” for the acquisition of school supplies, especially in an educational period “in which there is not enough "No type of help from other public administrations." “The City Council demonstrates once again that it is next to the families of our municipality where there are young children, in a fundamental stage such as the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, which is the gateway to the educational system for hundreds of boys and girls. ”.
The approval of these 160 new aids is added to the 688 that had already been previously approved by the Local Government Board. To simplify family access to them as much as possible, the Department of Education officially prepared a first batch of beneficiary students, which included all minors born in the years 2018 and 2019 who already enjoyed this subsidy in the academic year 2022/2023. This first one reached 668 minors, with a total amount of 42,084 euros. They were later joined by another second aid, amounting to 1,260 euros, which is now complemented by the approval of this third remittance, which adds another 160 beneficiaries and 10,080 euros to this item.
The Councilor for Education recalled that since last August 7, families who have already been granted aid can pick up the purchase vouchers at the delivery point assigned to them, and that varies depending on the school in which they are located. that the students are enrolled. Thus, in the Department of Education, located on the third floor of the City Hall, the vouchers will be collected from the students of the CEIP Gabriel Miró, Mestre Gaspar López, and Leonor Canalejas, and from Nuestra Señora de los Dolores concerted center. The delivery of Puig Campana and Els Tolls CEIPs is centralized in the municipal branch of Els Tolls; while the students of Bautista Lledó, Aitana, and Vasco Núñez de Balboa schools have been assigned the municipal branch of Foietes.
The administrative extension of La Cala is the collection point for the families of the CEIP La Cala and El Murtal; that of Rincón de Loix, for Serra Gelada school; and in the new Alfredo Corral-Maravall municipal branch for the students of Ausiàs March and Miguel Hernández schools.
The voucher will only be delivered to the applicant. If the applicant cannot attend, authorization signed by the applicant must be provided, accompanied by a photocopy of both of their IDs. Likewise, duplicates will not be issued due to loss, theft, or deterioration.
These purchase vouchers can be redeemed until November 10 in Benidorm businesses participating in the initiative.

Las familias con menores nacidos en 2020 o que cursan segundo ciclo de Educación Infantil pero no tuvieron la ayuda el curso pasado, todavía pueden solicitarla en la Sede Electrónica municipal, https://sede.benidorm.org, hasta el 29 de septiembre a las 15.00 horas.
Una vez dentro de la Sede Electrónica, se debe acceder al ‘Catálogo de servicios’ y escoger la opción ‘Solicitud de ayuda de material escolar’ del área de Educación.
Para este trámite no se requiere certificado electrónico.
Aquellas personas que tengan dificultad para realizar el trámite pueden acudir al Gabinete Psicopedagógico Municipal, ubicado en el CEIP Ausiàs March, en horario de 09.00 a 13.00 horas; o bien, al departamento de Educación en la tercera planta del Ayuntamiento.
