Benidorm announces the XXIII Festive Music Contest in Moor March modality

Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Culture, has already announced the rules for the XIII 'Villa de Benidorm' 2024 Festive Music Contest in the Mora March modality, rules that have been published today in the Official Gazette of the province.

The rules of the contest state that as many participants as they wish may enter, with no limit on age or nationality. In addition, they may present as many compositions as they wish, although these must be original, unpublished and may not have been performed in public prior to the jury's decision.

The jury, chaired by the Councilor for Culture, will especially value originality, harmony, melody and other characteristics of festive music, being suitable for the parades of these festivals. The rules indicate that a single prize of 2,000 euros and a trophy sponsored by Benidorm City Council is awarded.

The rules also establish that the works will be presented under a motto in the form of a score, without a signature or sign that allows the author to be identified. Four copies of the score will be sent in A3 or A4 format, properly bound and adjusting to the maximum template established in the rules themselves. Likewise, the score and the parts in PDF format and an audio of it will be attached on a CD or pen drive. Under no circumstances may the works be signed.

The material submitted to the competition must be sent only by certified postal mail to the attention of the Department of Culture of the Benidorm City Council. The deadline for admission of works will end at 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2024. Once this period has ended, the jury will evaluate the works presented within 15 calendar days and will communicate the motto through the City Council's different information channels. of the winning work, which will be performed at the Extraordinary Concert that will take place during the month of September of this year.
