The Youth 'Summer Program' ends with an excursion to Castell de Guadalest

The 'Summer Program', in which 144 children and young people between 10 and 16 years old have participated, has come to an end. The 48 participants of the third shift that took place from August 21 to today, September 1, accompanied by monitors and technicians from the Youth Department, have said goodbye to the activity with an excursion to El Castell de Guadalest.

The councilor of the area, Ana Soliveres, said goodbye to the minors on the bus that took them to this town in the Marina Baixa mountain, part of the association 'The most beautiful towns in Spain', an entity that promotes cultural heritage. and natural to picturesque inland areas.

Soliveres recalled that the 'Summer Program', "through educational leisure" intends for young people to "learn while having fun." To this end, during the fortnight that each shift lasts, "workshops, games, sports, film forums, emotional intelligence work or, as in this case, guided outings and excursions are proposed."

On this occasion, minors will be able to see the famous Guadalest reservoir, walk through its streets, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, learn about the history and traditions of this area of the Marina Baixa, and “visit – Soliveres specified – the Municipal Museum 'Casa Orduña', located in a 17th-century building, which has an interesting collection of paintings, ceramics, historical furniture, and its library."

The 'Summer Program' of the Youth Department has been developed during July and August, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in three shifts. Each minor has paid only 30 euros to participate, thanks to contributions from Benidorm City Council and the IVAJ (Valencian Youth Institute).
