The XIX Sports Games Adapted from Asmibe bring together 14 special centers of the province

Los XIX Juegos Deportivos Adaptados de Asmibe congregan a 14 centros especiales de la provincia

About 160 people will participate in a day that combines togetherness and sport

Next Thursday, May 18, it will be held in Benidorm the nineteenth edition of the Adaptive Sports Games organized by Asmibe (Association of Disabled Persons of Benidorm) with the collaboration of the departments of Social Welfare and Sports in the Sports City 'Guillermo Amor.

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca has invited all the people from Benidorm to participate "in a day of coexistence and sport" with Asmibe because "this year the association celebrates its 25th anniversary, the best we can do is to show our support and enjoy the coexistence with these  Adapted Sports Games. The fun and sporting day will start at 10.00 in the morning with the reception of the 14 participating centers from all over the province of Alicante, explained the president of Asmibe, Maria Agripina Fernández, who stressed that the participation of around 160 people with disabilities, plus their monitors and companions.

Fernández has stated that the tests will consist of assisted races, speed, long jump, throwing of weight, petanque, circuit of psychomotricidad, throwing to goal, to overwhelm basketball, tennis and cobweb. "Tests - said - organized by the TAFAD [Higher Technical Training Cycle in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities] of the International Center Lope de Vega: 60 students who will encourage all boys and girls to participate.

The day will end with the presentation of trophies, a display of birds of prey and a meal of brotherhood in which all participants, monitors and collaborators will attend. The centers that have confirmed their attendance at the XIX Asmibe Adapted Sports Games are: CEIP Miguel Hernández, CEIP Puig Campana, IES Mediterrània, CEE Secanet (Villajoyosa), Tapis Benidorm, Tapis Altea, CO Double Love, AFEM Marina Baixa, CO Les Talaies (Villajoyosa), Apresdeco (Dénia), CO Colores Asprodis (Elda), CO Torre Asprodis (Elda), Anilia (Alicante) and Asmibe.
