The work of Ametlla del Mar will involve specific changes in traffic on Juan Fuster Zaragoza and Zamora avenues

03 May 2019
La obra de Ametlla del Mar supondrá cambios puntuales de tráfico en las avenidas Juan Fuster Zaragoza y Zamora

The refurbishment works of Ametlla del Mar will involve specific changes in traffic on Juan Fuster Zaragoza and Zamora avenues like this Monday, May 6. Until the 19th of May the access to Juan Fuster Zaragoza from Ametlla del Mar will be cut, so the traffic coming from the Albir that circulates along this road will be diverted by the avenue of Zamora; while the vehicles that circulate in the opposite direction -to l'Albir- will not be affected. Yes it will be the drivers who want to join Ametlla del Mar from Roma Street, since they can only do so in the direction of l'Albir.

Residents, users of Rincón de Loix health center and supply companies will be able to access the Juan Fuster Zaragoza avenue from Bernat de Sarriá. While this phase of the work lasts, Juan Fuster Avenue in Zaragoza will remain as a bag, with a single entrance and exit.

The other point that undergoes specific modifications is the avenue of Zamora, at its intersection with Ametlla del Mar and Severo Ochoa. Thus, the incorporation to Ametlla del Mar in the direction of the avenue of the Mediterranean will be annulled; so only the turn is allowed to go up Paris Street or to join Severo Ochoa Avenue.

The remodeling of the avenue contemplates an integral redevelopment in the stretch between the Mediterráneo and Juan Fuster Zaragoza, although the improvements obtained by the City Council will allow the construction of a rainwater collector in this last road, and prolong the performance of the urban scene to Zamora street.

The remodeling includes the change of paving, signage and lighting; the expansion of sidewalks; and the implementation of trees, etc., and special emphasis will be placed on the renewal of water infrastructure and the improvement of the rainwater network. It also includes the creation of a bike lane in the center of the road, similar to that of Jaime I Avenue.
