Anemone presents the events of International Breast Cancer Day on its fifteenth anniversary

The Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll, presented this morning the commemorative events of the International Day against Breast Cancer, which is celebrated worldwide tomorrow, October 19, and in Benidorm will be extended throughout the weekend. The mayor has appeared before the media accompanied by the president of Anémona (Self-help Group for Women with Breast Cancer), of Benidorm and the Marina Baixa, and its companion of directive, Encarna Zafra.

With these activities "we want to show," said Ripoll, "our unconditional support to all those women of the association who have fought and fight with force and positively against this disease." The head of the area of Equality has thanked the work done by Anémona throughout its 15 years of history and its commitment to improve the quality of life of people and to make known the effects of the disease and how it is faced.

Meanwhile, María Botella, announced that Thursday's events will begin at 6:00 pm at Plaza del Torrejó, with the reading of a manifesto before the presence of the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals 2017, Anna Galiana and Àngela Antón. Previously, the women of the association, in the same place, will have made a large pink bow. The president of Anémona has asked the participants to "come with something pink" because, she said, "your support is very important for us."

The central event of the activities of the International Day Against Breast Cancer will be on Sunday the 22nd, when the traditional 'Muévete con Anémona', the march will be celebrated, with a concentration from 9.30 in the morning at Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España. Afterwards, the march will walk to Paseo de Tamarindos and you will return to the Avenida de Levante until Bilbao Avenue where, after the energy consumed, you can replenish forces with rice "prepared by restaurants of Benidorm" and a bar, at popular prices , in charge of the Comissió de Festes.
